If one has curiosity, life continues to be interesting, since we never know what’s coming next. Artistically speaking, a surprising turn for me came from a series of visits with my daughter and her English bulldog, Bumbog. She was a very humorous character whose many expressions demanded that I paint them (though I thought of myself as a landscape painter). Like the dog, these paintings were big and bold. Bumbog, whose name is Celtic for bumblebee, was born in Ireland and lived in London until her death in 2013.
